Description
Cold stones are an important part of hot stone massage. The alternation of hot and cold stones accelerates metabolism and strengthens blood circulation and calms the nervous system.
This is based on the vasodilating effect of hot stones and the constricting effect of cold stones - by changing the stones, you can increase the movement of blood circulation by pumping the vasculature. Enhanced blood circulation makes nutrients and oxygen used by the body flow better, and recovery speeds up.
Treatment with stones is painless and affects a depth of up to a couple of centimetres, being in some cases even more effective than manual deep tissue massage. After the treatment, the feeling is relaxed. Cold stones can also be used to ease skin irritation. Cold stones can be used for the whole body and face, for muscle inflammations, tense muscles and edema.
Cool the stones before putting them in the freezer. When the stones are around -10°C, wrap the stones in a towel and you can start the cold stone treatment.
