The 6 mm thick mat provides enough cushioning for calm yoga exercises, as well as for more dynamic training. The thicker 6 mm mat is also recommended for yogis who want more cushioning under sore knees and wrists. The mat is made of very durable PVC and has a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. The material does not contain any latex or harmful phthalates. The surface texture gives the mat more grip, so it does not slip under hands and feet, or against the floor.
Manufacturer's Care Instructions: Yoga mats may release a strong but harmless odor when first opened from the packaging. Air out the mat for 2-3 days before use. Spot clean with Gaiam's proprietary yoga mat cleaner or a damp cloth, cold water, and mild detergent. Avoid rubbing to prevent color bleeding. Allow to dry thoroughly before rolling. Mat may fade and become brittle if exposed to sunlight for extended periods of time. We recommend storing the mat in a yoga mat bag when not in use.
