Expandable design. The Elite 90 is made right here in the USA. Designed for advanced weightlifters, the Elite 90 Adjustable Dumbbell is expandable up to 90 lbs (40.8 kg). Once you have purchased a basic pair of dumbbells, Step 1 (50 lbs/22.7 kg), add-ons are available for higher weights, Step 2 (70 lbs/31.7 kg) and Step 3 (90 lbs/40.8 kg). All weights are adjustable in 1.1 - 2.3 kg increments, helping to build strength while maintaining good technique. Each stage has a compact design that optimizes the use of space in the home gym. Replace 28 traditional dumbbells and 374 kg weights with one pair of Elite adjustable dumbbells. Unlike the Pro 100 EXP, which uses black urethane-protected pressure plates, the Elite 90 uses welded steel plates. There are a few differences between these two types of discs. Welded steel is slightly louder and more susceptible to environmental influences, but the weights are more closely spaced together, making them more compact than urethane sheets. The original PowerBlock concept was born from the mess caused by traditional dumbbells in gyms. Functionality of PowerBlock weights:
1. Weight packages
- The urethane-coated steel packs offer a quiet and pleasant training experience
2. Handle
- The open space of the inner surface maximizes the range of movement and increases ergonomics together with the molded rubber handle. The handle can hold everyone's hand.
3. Automatic locking
- Automatic locking in the handle simplifies micro-adjustments of one kilogram (2.5 lbs), which are made by removing additional chrome weights inside the handle part
- To remove extra weights, tilt the handle back so the extra weights don't fall out uncontrollably. Carefully remove the weights and put them aside, for example in the storage compartment of the weight rack. Place the handle back inside the weights to close the lock or do the closing by hand.
- To add weights, repeat the same process from end to beginning.
4. Side rails
- The color codes of the side rails match the colors of the weight table, which makes it easier to choose the weights
5. Weight selector pin
- With the help of the pin, you can easily and quickly choose the weights you want by placing the pin between the side rails of the weights you want
- For example, by placing the pin under the entire weight pack, you select all the weights to use, or by removing the entire pin, you select just the handle as a weight (+ possible additional chrome weights inside)
- The pin is made of strong polypropylene and is rated to withstand a weight of up to 230 kilograms (500 lbs). Magnets inside the pin keep it securely in place.
