Description
The story of the mythical and legendary carrier continues when the legendary Savotta Jääkäri backpack sits on your shoulders. Savotta Jääkäri M (aka Jääkäri backpack) is more than a daypack. Numerous individual points and the PALS strap system make the backpack so versatile and modular that you will be looking for another - for a long time. The quality taken to the extreme guarantees that the backpack can withstand even heavy use and you can even load it full of stones (see the video below). The narrow design makes it easier to walk. The support frame and compression straps keep the backpack in place and the contents don't get loose. An excellent product for hunting, skiing and why not for everyday use.
Jääkäri M's backpack (dimensions approx. 52 x 25 x 17 cm) is designed to be narrow, but still roomy enough to fit the equipment needed for a day trip. The mouth opening of the backpack is closed with a drawstring and the tightness of the mouth opening is ensured by a waterproof protective collar that also enables overpacking. The mouth opening is covered with a flap along the end of the backpack, which is closed with straps. The flap is attached on both sides with adjustable straps, so it is "floating" and enables easy overpacking. The generous length of the straps gives plenty of space under the flap for accessories, such as a sleeping bag. On the inside of the flap there is also a spacious valuables pocket (dimensions approx. 25 x 25 cm) that can be closed with a zipper.
The contents of the backpack can also be quickly accessed via the full-length vertical zipper on the right side of the backpack. The zipper has two pullers, so you can open it wherever you want. Against the back, inside the backpack bag there is a compartment the size of the entire back for the backpack support. The compartment is also suitable as an additional pocket for carrying flat items. Inside the rucksack there is a pocket (dimensions approx. 23cm x 37cm) for a water bladder or accessories to be kept separately. This pocket can hold e.g. today's 13.3" laptop, or throwing smaller tablets and electronics. Even books (if you remember what they are) can fit. The mouth of the pocket has a rubber band that prevents scraps from bouncing along the backpack.
On both sides of the backpack, under the flap, there are outlet openings for the hose of the bladder, or for example for the antenna or antenna. With the four tightening straps found on the sides of the backpack, the backpack bag can be tightly tightened even with insufficient packing. At the bottom of the sides, there are open pockets tightened with rubber bands, where you can put small items, or alternatively the end of a long tool or a drinking bottle, the neck of which can be tied firmly in place with a side tightening strap. The bottoms of these pockets also have metal rings to remove water from the pocket.
PALS
A Jaeger wouldn't be a Jaeger without the modularity brought by the PALS webbing system, or more familiarly, "MOLLE". PALS / MOLLE is a mounting system used by the military in almost every country. This fastening system was created for a need where absolute modularity and durability are required. MOLLE, which is very flexible to the Finnish mouth, is an abbreviation of the words: Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment. PALS, on the other hand, stands for: Pouch Attachment Ladder System.
By applying this technology, Jääkäri M has been created as a highly modular entity. Molle can be found on the Jääkäri M's front, sides, flap and even in the carrying straps and hip belt. With Molle, you can attach any PALS compatible pocket almost anywhere on the Jääkäri M you want. With the help of suitable pockets, the Jääkäri M can be expanded into a compact-sized anatomical backpack.
In addition to the modular attachment option, the mollekujast strengthens and supports the backpack. One Jääkäri M molle loop can withstand more than 100kg of pull.
Other attachment points
The straps for attaching the flap are long and run along the entire front and bottom of the backpack. If necessary, the 25mm strap dives nicely along the molle alley and can be raised to the surface from any point you want. This enables the item to be securely tied to the front of the backpack without additional loose straps. At the bottom of the backpack there are four ribbon guide loops, through which the straps run and enable the equipment to be tied to the bottom of the backpack as well. When attached to the base, it is excellently suitable for portability, e.g. rolled sleeping pads.
On the front side of Jääkäri M, on the bottom edge of the bag, there are fastening loops (2 pcs) for transporting bulk goods. Appropriately sized loops are suitable for carrying special long items so that the handle can fit into the loop if necessary. It is also possible to tighten portable items that would otherwise not fit in the backpack behind the side tightening straps of the backpack. The tightening straps are sized to be long enough so that they reach over the backpack to the opposite attachment if necessary.
Stump
Anatomically shaped sturdy shoulder pads and a low-profile but sturdy hip belt make carrying sturdy and comfortable. The hip belt buckle can be tightened in either direction and there is plenty of room for adjustment for a user of many sizes. Additional comfort and support is provided by the chest strap with a hook-and-loop fastener. The carrying handle on the neck makes it easy to carry the backpack by hand.
The back is reinforced with a very durable ethylene plastic sheet frame. Thanks to this light frame, the backpack stays tidy and comfortable to carry even when loaded a little heavier. If you want, the support column can also be removed from the backpack. As an additional accessory, Jääkäri M also has a stiffer frame, where two vertical flat aluminum bars are riveted to the ethylene sheet as a stiffener. The Jääkäri M equipped with an additional frame is already a compact, ergonomic bike.
The generously sized and sturdy padding cushions that sit against the back are rare in backpacks of this size class and make the Jääkäri M a surprisingly comfortable small backpack. The pillow at the lower back can also be removed if desired, or alternatively the lap belt can be folded behind the pillow to hide it out of the way.
